Paco Park – The Historical Cemetery

Paco Park is a historical cemetery and cultural site located in the city of Manila. It is a well-preserved Spanish-era cemetery and garden that dates back to the late 18th century. The park was constructed in a circular layout with high stone walls. It was designed by Spanish architect and urban planner Nicolas Ruiz, and it served as a burial ground for the elite during the Spanish colonial period.

In 1966, Paco Park was converted into a recreational park and garden. The cemetery’s graves were exhumed, and the remains of the deceased were transferred to a communal ossuary. The park is now a peaceful and picturesque location for picnics, weddings, and cultural events.

Inside Paco Park, there is a small chapel known as the Chapel of St. Pancratius. This chapel is a popular venue for weddings and intimate ceremonies due to its charming and historical ambiance.
