Sacred Garlic Pear

Sacred Garlic Pear, commonly known Salingbobog in the Philippines. It is a moderate sized deciduous tree about 15m in height and 9m wide. It grows well in sun or partial shade and normally prefers moist, rich, neutral to acid soil. Bark is grey, and the wood is yellowish-white, turning light-brown when old. This tree is also called the spider tree because the showy flowers bear long, spidery stamens. It is native to the Philippines and much of tropical Asia and several South Pacific islands.
