Dalingdingan Tree

Dalingdingan tree, also called manggachapui is a medium to large-sized tree reaching a height of about 35 meters and a diameter of 90 cm, with ovate leaves, small flowers. It is endemic to the Philippines. Having qualities of being so dense as to not be affected by wood insects, it is said that this tree wood was used to build the early Manila galleon, bridges and other seacrafts constructions.
